Claire has more than 14 years’ experience in the aviation and government sectors having previously worked at Heathrow Airport and Tourism Victoria before moving to Perth in 2014 to join Tourism WA. As the Director Aviation Development and Policy at Tourism WA, Claire oversees and works across a variety of areas including international and regional aviation development, aviation policy, and general aviation matters. Working with partners and stakeholders from government, airports, airlines, and the tourism industry, – she seeks to bring a cooperative effort to realise new routes, additional flights, or more affordable options in the State’s regional aviation area. Recent projects in which Claire has played a pivotal role include the successful commencement of Qantas’ Perth – London flights in March 2018; the introduction of an affordable air fare initiative on Qantas’ Perth – Broome service; and increases in aviation capacity to China, Indonesia and New Zealand. Claire is also an active and integral member in the Western Australia Government’s cross agency taskforces that will oversee the State’s submission for the Qantas RFI Pilot Academy; and the outcomes following the release of the Final Report from the Parliamentary Inquiry into regional airfares in Western Australia.
